How was SonFre founded ?

Sonfre was founded by Mantas and Laura, a husband-and-wife team from Lithuania. The journey began when we were searching for the perfect, effortlessly elegant linen outfit for a special occasion. Unable to find exactly what we had in mind—like the breezy, beautiful white tunic tops we now love to share with you—we decided to craft it ourselves. What started as a personal project quickly blossomed into Sonfre: a labor of love dedicated to creating timeless, handmade linen garments.

The name "Sonfre" translates to "celebration." It reflects the joyful spirit we weave into everything we create. We believe our handmade linen pieces are not just made to be worn, but made to be treasured during life's special moments.

For your convenience, SonFre has both a personal e-shop that you’re currently on and a shop on Etsy’s platform.

We also do wholesale and can be found in quite a few places around the world.

Yes, we do offer discounts from time to time. In order to receive them, you must be subscribed to our newsletter.

Shipping & Returns

Which countries do you ship to?

We ship worldwide!

Yes, Free Standard Shipping is applicable for all orders. Read more about our shipping policies here.

Receiving your Sonfre order involves two steps: crafting your garment and shipping it to you from our studio in Lithuania.

1. Production Time
Because every item is handcrafted specifically for you—individually cut, sewn, and double-washed—please allow us 5-10 days before your order ships.

2. Shipping Time
Once your new white tunic top or dress leaves our hands, estimated delivery times depend on your chosen shipping method:

  • Express Courier (DHL or FedEx): 2–5 days worldwide.
  • National Post (Europe): 3–10 days.
  • National Post (Non-European Countries): 10–20 days.

(Please note: Shipping timelines are estimates. National Post tracking availability varies by country, and Express Couriers cannot deliver to PO Boxes).

We use all sorts of carrier services, depending on the country that the parcel is being sent to and whether the client has chosen the Express or Regular Delivery Service.

Yes. If the order isn’t custom or hasn’t been shipped yet, you can contact us at help@sonfre.com to make changes to an existing order.

You can update your shipping address on your order until is has been shipped.

In the circumstance of a lost package, please contact the carrier service and provide them with your parcel’s tracking number.

If you encounter any problems, please contact us at help@sonfre.com and we will manage it for you.

We only accept returns of garments that have not yet been worn and are in the same state that they have been shipped in. Returns can be made up to 14 days after the client has received the item.

When in need of a return, the client can choose between exchanging the item for another, receiving the refund for the returned item as store credit with an additional 10% discount for a future purchase, or returning the item back to us completely.

The refundable amount only applies to the price that was paid for the garment(s), meaning the shipping costs (of both ways) will not be refunded and remain the client's responsibility.

Please note that custom garments are non-returnable and require a processing time of 4–6 weeks. If you’re on a tight timeline and need your order for a special occasion, feel free to reach out—we’ll do our best to prioritize your order.

Unfortunately, we do not offer exchanges. If you want to replace an item, a new order should be placed for a different size, style, or color.

Payments

Which payment methods do you accept?

We accept Paypal, Apple Pay and Credit Card (American Express, VISA, Mastercard, Diners Club, Discover, JCB) and others

After we receive the product that has been returned, we will fully examine it for any signs of wear and tear. Then we will notify you via e-mail of your right to a refund. All of these procedures take no longer than 14 days from the date the returned garment and Return Form was received.

Sizing & Custom Orders

What sizing system do you use?

To help you find your perfect fit, we provide detailed Size Guide charts directly on every product page. Our sizes range from XS to 2XL, and you can easily view specific garment measurements (like bust, waist, and length) in both centimeters and inches.

Please keep in mind that because our garments are individually handcrafted from natural linen—a beautiful, "living" fabric—measurements may have a slight variation of +/- 1.27 cm (half an inch). Differences in fabric weight or weave mean that new garments might not exactly match previously owned pieces. We encourage you to embrace these minor variations as part of the distinctive charm and uniqueness of your handmade item!

Yes, some measurements might differ throughout various SonFre designs. Therefore we always strongly advise our clients to double check their measurements with every new piece that they want to acquire.

Here are a couple of great options for "How do I choose the right size for me?" Since linen behaves a little differently than stretchy synthetic fabrics, it is super helpful to gently remind your customers how to account for that when picking their size.

The best way to find your perfect fit—whether you are picking out one of our signature white tunic tops or a flowing linen dress—is to take your exact body measurements and compare them to the Size Guide on the product page.

Here is what we recommend:

  • Take your measurements: Use a flexible measuring tape to measure your bust and waist.
  • Check the chart: Open the Size Guide on the item you want to purchase. You can easily toggle between centimeters and inches to view the garment measurements for sizes XS through 2XL.
  • Leave a little room: Since 100% natural European linen does not stretch, we recommend choosing a size that gives you a little bit of breathing room to ensure an effortlessly elegant and comfortable fit.
  • Keep variations in mind: Remember that our handmade pieces can have a slight natural variation of about +/- 1.27 cm (half an inch).

Yes, simple alterations to the garments can be made. Please write to us at help@sonfre.com to place a custom order.

It all depends on the client’s wishes and our seamstresses’ capabilities at that specific time. The clothing pieces can be customized as to adding one garment’s specific detail onto another, however completely new designs that are not shown anywhere on our website are not available.

Running those extra miles to make your dream dress come true adds a 15 to 25% additional fee, depending on the complexity of your wish. As each case is different and unique, please consult our team at help@sonfre.com for the final price of your timeless sonfre dress.

No, items that are purchased during our seasonal sales are ready to ship and can not be customized.

Yes, we offer universal clothing that can be worn in the period of pregnancy and after.

All About Linen

Do the colors in pictures look the same in real life?

During photo shoots, our photographers try to do their best to picture products as closely to real-life colors as possible. However, slight differences may occur from time to time.

Not always. As linen can be called an “alive” material, its color and texture is not always the same. The outcome of the fabric highly depends on the conditions that the flax plants were grown in. Therefore it is a natural material, and can not always be the exact same.
